Pink Sea Fans are a slow-growing type of coral that provide habitats for other marine species. Destructive fishing practices, like scallop dredging, damages pink sea fans and this damage is hard to recover from due to their slow growth. As a vulnerable species, they need help to continue to exist.<\/p>

We\\\u2019re working to get better protection for pink sea fans, pushing for increased spaces where they are safe from harmful fishing and are free to rebuild. We\\\u2019re monitoring areas where this type of protection, known as marine protected areas, is already in place.
