Celebrate the vibrant colours of the ocean with Susie\u2019s Rodger\u2019s depiction of the distinctive Moorish Idol fish.<\/p>
<\/p>
Though similar in appearance to butterfly fish, Moorish Idols are actually the only extant (surviving) species of the zanclidae family of fish.<\/p>
<\/p>
Their striking appearance is a clever protection mechanism. The contrasting colours work as a disruptive camouflage, making it hard for predators to see the outline of the fish\u2019s body.<\/p>
Luckily for us, they are easy to spot in this colourful underwater canvas print, created for us by Susie Rodgers MBE.<\/p>

Susie is a former Paralympic swimmer, who competed internationally for 6 years and won 30 international medals including Paralympic Gold and 5 Bronze medals at the Rio 2016 and London 2012 Paralympic Games.<\/p>

Susie is also an Ocean Ambassador for us here at the Marine Conservation Society and has combined her passion for painting and for the sea with this Moorish Idol artwork.
